Rockville is proud to introduce the all-new PBG18 18" professional subwoofer, the latest addition to our bass gig series. This subwoofer is our most powerful and highest-quality passive subwoofer to date. We tested it against subwoofers from leading brands in the industry, such as Peavey and Yamaha, and it held its own.

The advantages of purchasing Rockville, Yamaha, Peavey, or other high-end brands are longevity, power, sound quality, and sensitivity. We conducted extensive testing and found a significant difference in the quality and components between this subwoofer and off-brand models. The off-brand enclosures are made of a material called particle board, while we use MDF, a higher-quality wood that will last much longer.

The pro audio subwoofer in the cabinet has a very large 4" KSV voice coil and a 100 oz. high-quality magnet. In comparison, off-brand models typically have a magnet and voice coil half the size, which means our unit can handle more power and will last longer. These subs can take a real beating!

Another important factor we focused on was sensitivity. During our testing, we noticed that one of the subwoofers we were evaluating went louder than the rest with the same amplifier, and the reason was its better sensitivity rating. Our engineers designed this sub to have a sensitivity rating as good as that particular subwoofer we liked.

The Rockville PBG18 18" 2000 Watt Passive Pro Subwoofer features an 18" pro audio woofer with 1,000 Watts RMS Power, 1,500 Watts Program Power Handling, and 2,000 Watts Peak Power. It has a 4" KSV voice coil and a 100 oz. woofer magnet, ensuring superior performance and durability.

The construction of this subwoofer is also top-notch, with a high-density, high-quality non-resonant MDF cabinet that is stapled, bonded, and braced. It also features ergonomic recessed handles, a molded steel grill, and aviation-grade black carpet. The subwoofer is equipped with a pole mount, rubber isolating feet, a 1/4" jack (in/out), and Speak ON (in/out) connections, all of which are internally connected in parallel.

The nominal impedance of the Rockville PBG18 is 8 Ohm, and it has a sensitivity of 98dB (+ or - 2 dB) @ 1w/1m. The frequency response range is 35 Hz - 4 Khz. The dimensions of the subwoofer are 20" x 23.62" x 25.59" (W x D x H), and it weighs 64 LBS. The shipping dimensions (in carton) are 20.47" x 24.41" x 26.38" (W x D x H), with a shipping weight of 68 LBS.
